Having risen to prominence in Michael Haneke’s The White Ribbon and then acclaimed in The Crown, where she played Princess Cecilie, Benesch recently made her mark with her role as an idealistic young teacher in The Staffroom, where she already explored the ethical dilemmas and pressures of a dedicated profession. In The Front Line, her nuanced performance, oscillating between kindness, exhaustion, and suppressed frustration, brings to life a deeply human character. Cinematographer Judith Kaufmann’s camera follows Floria closely, capturing every gesture, every look, reinforcing the sense of urgency and tension that permeates the film.
